Honestly I'm surprised that I've made it over ten years into being the spouse of a sugarmaker before I decided to try substituting white granulated sugar with maple syrup in a recipe. I really don't know why I waited so long, but alas, I've finally done it + I can assure you it won't be the last time! These are basic banana bread muffins, no white sugar, just maple syrup! The reviews were good, you can add up to 3/4 cup maple syrup before you're just being greedy! :)
I adapted the recipe from LoveMischka and you can see that HERE
This is the ingredient list:
3 bananas
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 1/2 cups flour
It goes together something like this:
Preheat oven to 375*
Mix first 5 ingredients together, mix well.
Add next 3 ingredients, mix well.
Lastly add flour, mix well.
Bake for 18 minutes + check for doneness
OTHER OPTIONS
- add walnuts
- add chocolate chips
- if you're JJ, add sprinkles.
Thanks for checking out our very first blog post! JJ prefers to be independent while he helps me, which explains why he's using a dough cutter to mash the bananas.
